Daily Wear- 4

I did think about taking my pictures outside, but the thirty something weather threw me off. Why is it so cold?

I love tights. I want to own a million pairs. As a kid, I hated them. Now I adore them. And they are not that cheap! (The best deals on tights are at Ross's.) I read on a blog that if you are a petite lady, you can buy tights from the girls clothing section at stores...unfortunately, I'm a little to tall for that. :)

I just bought these booties at a thrift store...they are Payless, and were only four dollars!

And you can't really tell in this picture, but I wore a pair of heart shaped lapis stone stud earrings today. I almost forgot jewelry today, but remembered! Wearing jewelry is much harder than you would think. :)

Fresh Start...Giveaways

How cool is this? I ran across it on Lolodesigns.
Even though I've basically done all those things already, this is a lovely plan.

Btw, Kelly at Kelly's Recipes for Life  is going to be having a giveaway on the first Monday of every month...to enter you have to be a follower. Are you? Go over and tell her hi!

Small Change, Big Impact

I'm a terribly "before" picture taker. I always forget. I don't have a good reason. So, you will have to use your imagination for this one... my closet had stuffing and yarn launching out of it. Everytime I opened the door stuffing would spring from the depths. And let me tell you that stuffing is not easy to manage! Keep it in a bag. Or a box. Or use it. (Which I'm planning to do over the next few days...)
Have you imagined a horrible closet? Or do you know what I'm talking about? ;) Tip to anyone with a messy closet, do not combine hobbies in  one closet. Do not keep sewing items, decor, clothes, school books, and what not in a closet unless you absolutely must. And you had better be an amazingly uncluttered person for that to be neat and orderly. Now, my closet just houses clothes (I think.)

Welcome to my closet!
My bathrobes are hung on a super cool stick on hook my Command (right? Maybe...)

I put nails on the side to hold my belts...way handy.

I have no clue what are in these boxes, definately not red grapefruits those. I didn't want to look. I think old dress up clothes though.

Boots are on the floor, yes, along with my hoopskirt. Do you want it? I bought it when I was nine. :)

And now we are getting to the good part...my fantabulous Daddy built me three shelves to hold my shoes (actually, just my heels, my flats are still in the laundry room. Ahem.)

Are you half as excited as I am?

Daddy built me three shelves a foot apart, and they are dreamy! Peachy! Amazing! Eeek! I hearts them.

And my scarves are hung on hangers, which you can see to the right of the picture.

After these pictures I put two basket on the shelves holding my gloves and hair bands.

And I've gone through most of my stuff and gotten rid of things.

No more buying things just because I like them! 2010 needs to be a year of none impulse buying (especially from thrift stores!)

Did you play with your closets since it's the beginning of the new year?

Now I'm off to eat malt balls and vacuum! (The perfect combination.)

Daily Wear- 3

Is it incredibly windy today! And I was going thrift shopping with my Mom, so I dressed for comfort and warmth. : ) Very important points.

Can you tell I'm getting used to timed pictures and a tripod? The tripod was a Christmas present...

Have you ever seen the pictures with a cow who is sticking it's nose in the camera lens? That's how I feel about the above picture.

Look! I found a ray of sun! I need to take my pictures earlier in the day, four p.m. is not optimum.

I've made a new resolution for this year, wear all my jewelry! I've set all my jewelry in plain sight so I will wear it.

Christmas Presents- 1

Happy New Year! Did you have fun last night? I had fun working on something which I'll show you soon...

My sister, Hannah, makes incredible jewelry. She has an Etsy store if you want to check it out.

She made me this beautiful set for Christmas, it's made with copper beads.

Aren't these earrings gorgeous? And dangly, my favorite!

She also made me a pair of really cool earrings, because everyone needs more pairs!

I believe they are made out of vintage beads and vintage brass...maybe. Don't quote me.

So, today I wanted to take pictures of my new fabulous Christmas presents, and show them to you.
Do you approve?

Goals and Resolutions

First I'm going to list my resolutions...

1. Wake up and run, unless it's a sleep in day.

2. Blog every day.

3. Take pictures of my outfits for my blog.

4. Sew more.

5. No summer classes! (This should be easy, right?)

6. Wear more dresses!

And now my goals (which are different from my resolutions...)

Paint my dresser with free paint from Glidden.

Paint sewing table with free paint from Glidden, sew skirt for this more thing.

Paint night stand a crisper/cleaner white. No more of this off white stuff!

This may seem silly, but I do not make resolutions or goals that I know I can't keep or do. That is a waste of time and blog space. :)

What goals or resolutions did you make? And will they stick?
